Job Overview:
The Director of Corporate Accounting is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's financial and accounting functions. This position will ensure the accuracy of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), lead the month-end close process, and support the CFO with financial reporting, audits, and budgeting activities. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities and a comprehensive understanding of corporate accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to mitigate risks and safeguard assets.
  • Collaborate with FP&A teams on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Manage the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline financial operations and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Provide financial analysis and guidance on accounting implications for business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with tax filings, regulatory requirements, and other financial obligations.
  • Mentor, train, and manage the corporate accounting team, providing leadership and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification required.
  • 8-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles in corporate accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex financial data and present meaningful insights.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a public accounting firm andin a publicly traded company.
  • Experience in managing corporate accounting for multinational companies.
  • Familiarity with SEC reporting and SOX compliance.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
