Job Summary

DRS is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Government Compliance Analyst to join our Supply Chain team in the Danbury, CT area to provide unparalleled support to our customer and to begin an exciting and rewarding career within DRS.

What You Will Do
  • Develop complex analyses to ensure supply chain compliance
  • Understand business forecasts and pinpoint any areas of vulnerability of company requirements, making recommendations on how to proactively reduce risk
  • Lead procurement kick-off meetings with the procurement team defining the scope of the award and expectations on order placement
  • Evaluate the contract flow downs from the Contracts department and ensure the appropriate flow-downs are identified and passed on to Purchasing
  • Interact with Program Management on Program Cost issues and required details
  • Measure Target Costs against Proposal Costs and work with Supply Chain Management on methods to meet targets
  • Consolidate requisitions to obtain leverage pricing
  • Review open requisitions weekly and meet with appropriate Supply Chain Manager on the progress of order placement
  • Review placement to requisition need date and length of time in purchasing
  • Advise planning, engineering and drafting of item master errors, updates, or omissions in relation to mil-specs or new or obsolete items
  • Advise planning, engineering and contracts of changes in prices or lead times that make and produce cost-prohibitive or lead times detrimental to production cycles
  • Be the communication interface between commodity buyers and their suppliers with the program teams
  • Attend weekly Program meetings and identify any "potential" issues that can be addressed early on
  • Expedite critical components to ensure on-time deliveries
  • Be prepared to address any current or potential parts issues
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in high technology, aerospace or defense or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management tools and procedures
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, particularly "influence management" and "conflict resolution"
  • Experience with earned value cost accounting and reporting; experience with metrics for assessing and reporting program and/or commodity progress, productivity and variance analysis
  • Experience in finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing and DoD, ITAR, EAR, FAR, DFAR regulations
  • Strong customer interface skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Must have a successful track record in managing complex aerospace/defense supply chain activities
  • Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment
