Mental Health Counselor (WHATCOM COUNTY) The team you will be joining The Whatcom County Triage Center (WCTC) in Bellingham can accommodate individuals who are recovering from a mental health crisis. We provide crisis stabilization, walk-in emergency and next day appointments. What you will be performing The Clinician will be responsible for providing specialized crisis intervention and short-term treatment services to adults and older adults experiencing an acute behavioral health crisis, with the goal of crisis stabilization within the least restrictive setting. This position is responsible for assessing client functioning and needs, and partnering with the client and treatment team to develop an individually tailored care plan designed to promote recovery. Please note the position days/hours are Thursday - Saturday 730am-8pm. What you will bring with you * Qualifies as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) as defined by WAC. * Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Evidence-Based Practices, or interest and ability to learn. * Individuals who do not already hold a license or associate license through the Washington State Department of Health must submit Agency Affiliated Counselor application upon hire and be approved by the DOH. * Current First Aid & CPR certification and Food Handlers permit, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. * Ability to work effectively with individuals with complex needs and multi-system involvement. * Ability to maintain a positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems. * Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to multitask within a fast-paced environment. * Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. * Strong computer proficiency, including keyboarding skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. * Ability to utilize an electronic medical record for collaborative clinical documentation. * Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check.
