Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist - Full Time
Everett, WA Starting date late June/early July 2025. Compass Health is looking for a Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our Medical Service Team. SUMMARY The Psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and treatment of child/adolescent mental health consumers. This position is also responsible for providing consultation and training regarding psychiatric illness to other clinicians. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned
- Provides direct psychiatric care including psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management to child/adolescent in a variety of settings: office based, residential, Evaluation and Treatment Centers, nursing care facilities, etc.
- Provides inpatient psychiatric services.
- Provides consultation to other physicians, nurses and other mental health clinicians.
- Documents all psychiatric care in the medical record.
- Complies with all accurate and appropriate charting, coding and billing procedures as required by the regulatory organization (Medicare, NSRSN, HCFA, APN etc.).
- Communicates, as appropriate, with referral sources in the provider community.
- Participates as a member of the medical staff team and multidisciplinary teams.
- Participates in quality assurance and peer review activities.
- Provides in-service education, as requested, to non-medical clinicians and consumers.
- As requested, completes special projects under the supervision of the Associate Medical Director.
- Participates in regularly scheduled supervision and team meetings.
- Remains compliant with required trainings and certifications.
- Behaves in an ethical and professional manner consistent with agency policy, state law, and licensing entities if applicable.
- Understands and practices safekeeping of client protected health information per Compass Health's HIPAA and other agency policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates respect for diversity and a commitment to developing multicultural competency and sensitivity.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES
- M.D. or D.O. Degree.
- Certificate from an accredited psychiatric residency program.
- Board eligibility required. Board certification preferred.
- Experience in community mental health preferred.
- Experience with working with child/adolescent preferred.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License including vehicle and appropriate insurance, if applicable.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Ability to complete a comprehensive bio-psycho-social evaluation, diagnosis and treatment plan on mental health consumers.
- Thorough familiarity with indications for and treatment with psychotropic medications.
- Knowledge of insight-oriented, behavioral, cognitive and supportive, individual, and family and group forms of treatment.
- Knowledge of utilization management and quality assurance.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team approach to behavioral health care.
- Ability to maintain a positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to multitask within a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- General computer proficiency, including the ability to utilize electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check, which may or may not include an additional search by DSHS.
