Student Success Center

Job Description

The Student Success Center (SSC) at Missouri S&T offers holistic support to students through peer tutoring, success coaching, and student engagement initiatives. These programs empower students to succeed academically, develop essential skills, and thrive in their personal and professional endeavors. The SSC Coordinator will oversee the Success Coaching Program and play a critical role in promoting the SSC's services through outreach, communication, and social media strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • S&T Tutoring Services
    • Collaborate with campus partners to promote S&T Tutoring and ensure broad student participation.
    • Design and implement communication strategies to raise awareness of S&T Tutoring services, ensuring effective outreach to students and fostering their active engagement with available academic support resources.
    • In partnership with the Senior Program Manager, monitor and track the success of S&T Tutoring through data analysis, adjusting course offerings and program effectiveness based on student needs and feedback.
    • Assist in coordinating tutoring schedules and ensuring resources are available to meet academic needs.
  • Success Coaching Program Management
    • Oversee the Success Coaching Program, providing students with personalized academic support and guidance.
    • Supervise and train 10+ Success Coaches, ensuring they are equipped to assist students effectively in areas such as time management, goal-setting, and academic strategies.
    • Monitor the program's progress, gathering data and feedback to make improvements and ensure continued success.
    • Ensure the Success Coaches collaborate to provide comprehensive support for students facing academic challenges.
  • Student Engagement & Program Development
    • Collaborate with the Senior Program Manager to plan and execute events that promote SSC services, such as workshops, seminars, and student engagement activities.
    • Develop programs that integrate soft skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving into SSC services, particularly through success coaching.
  • Outreach & Marketing
    • Lead efforts to raise awareness of SSC programs and services through strategic outreach, both online and offline.
    • Manage the SSC's social media presence by creating and sharing engaging content that promotes services, highlights student employees, and showcases events.
    • Design and execute marketing campaigns that drive student involvement in SSC programs, including social media content, email campaigns, and promotional materials.
    • Collaborate with campus departments and partners to broaden communication about SSC offerings and create campus-wide awareness.
  • Administrative Responsibilities
    • Manage hiring and payroll for Success Coaches, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
    • Develop reports and assessments to evaluate program performance, gather student feedback, and measure impact on student success.
    • Represent the SSC on selected campus committees and taskforces, contributing to broader student success initiatives and ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
    • Participate in team meetings, offering insights and suggestions for program improvements.
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM, or Social Science

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $18.61-$20.34 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
