Overview

Alliance Cancer Specialists,

the most extensive community-based oncology practice in Southeastern PA, is growing our Radiation Team team! We are seeking a full-time Radiation Therapist (per deim). The perfect candidate will be a compassionate, detail-oriented individual excited to join our hardworking team here at Alliance. This position will primarily be located at our Red Lion Practice.

Under minimal supervision of the radiation oncologists and chief radiation therapists, administers radiation therapy treatments to patients. Accuracy in positioning the beam of radiation to correspond with the designated tumor volume and accurately delivering the prescribed dose is a paramount job function. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

  • Accurately delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist and chief radiation therapist.
  • Accurately enters and maintains patient treatment parameters into the electronic medical record.
  • Participates in clinical instruction of newly hired therapists and students.
  • Accurately interprets a computerized treatment plan.
  • Maintains patient appointment schedule and submits correct billing information.
  • Participates in the clinical instruction of radiation therapy students.
  • Responsible for accurate block cutting, when applicable.
  • Responsible for making custom molds, and for accurate simple dose calculations.
  • May assist in equipment Quality Assurance and daily patient care Quality Assurance as required by USON and/or accreditation agencies.
  • May assist in chart audits.
  • Serves as a mentor to employees which may include mold technicians, simulation therapists, and radiation therapists.
  • May provide work direction or guidance to others.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program. Minimum seven years actively practicing as an RTT. ARRT certification is required. Must hold a valid state license for radiation therapy.
