STV is seeking a skilled and motivated Communications Engineering Specialist to join our Systems & Security team at our Oakland, CA office. The successful candidate will assist the Project Manager in various tasks, including drafting, construction management, and performing field surveys and visits as required. This role demands a versatile professional with a strong background in communications engineering and project management, capable of contributing to multiple aspects of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management Support:

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing communications engineering projects.

  • Track project progress, timelines, and budgets, ensuring all objectives and deadlines are met.

Drafting and Design:

  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints using CAD software.

  • Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

Construction Management:

  • Oversee and manage construction activities related to communications engineering projects.

  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met.

  • Monitor construction progress, address issues, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.

Field Surveys and Visits:

  • Conduct field surveys to collect data, assess site conditions, and verify project requirements.

  • Perform site visits to inspect ongoing construction work and ensure adherence to design specifications.

  • Document findings and provide recommendations based on field observations.

Technical Documentation:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, manuals, and specifications.

  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, technical reports, and other related documents.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to achieve project goals.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of [X] years of experience in communications engineering, project management, or a related role.

  • Proficiency in CAD software and other drafting tools.

  • Strong understanding of communications systems, construction processes, and industry standards.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation Range:

$89,149.00 - $118,865.00
