Title: Legal Specialist - Litigation

Location: Dallas, TX (REQUIRED)

Hybrid/Remote/Onsite: HYBRID

Position Description:

Provides support for internal and external litigation counsel and advises company personnel on routine matters. Engages in a variety of tasks ranging from routine to those calling for judgment and independent initiative.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzes and researches legal issues and business processes.

  • Displays a general understanding of various levels of risk.

  • Develops the skills necessary to become a resource for colleagues within the department.

  • Communicates with internal business partners.

  • Works directly under the supervision of an attorney.

  • Maintains internal database, document management and calendaring systems - and advises on process improvements as those systems upgrade.

  • Opens and closes litigation and pre-litigation matters, including tracking settlements.

  • Manages and responds to government, agency, third-party and employment subpoenas, document requests, and other formal requests for information, including analyzing requests, negotiating scope of any response, and obtaining, reviewing, and producing documents.

  • Assists with internal and external reporting on litigation matters.

  • Provides assistance with case management, document collections and productions, witness interviews, and investigations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate will have 5-years paralegal experience in a law firm or in-house.

  • Possess great organizational and communication skills.

  • Proven experience with multi-tasking and partnering well in a group environment.

  • Demonstrate initiative; Take direction and give input as needed.

Critical Skills:

  • Strong litigation and case management background.

  • Ability to be flexible and prioritize.

  • High competency with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, and document management systems.

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Prefer experience working in pharmaceutical or other regulated healthcare environment or in another highly regulated industry.

  • Experience working directly with internal client contacts (if at an outside law firm) or working in an in-house environment.

  • Effective, clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to multitask.

  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external clients and promote the reputation and integrity of the Law Department and McKesson.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$78,000 - $130,000
