Specifications

The Jona Goldrich Center for Alzheimer's and Memory Disorders at CSMC is seeking a leader who is committed to excellence in translational research, open to continuous learning and is an effective communicator who thrives in team-based settings. The identified candidate will be expected to build the neuropathology biobank, create protocols, provide support and consultation for scientific initiatives related to the use of central nervous system tissues, serum and CSF, and collaboratively contribute to neuroscience research projects and initiatives while having the opportunity to develop or continue an independent research program. For the appropriate candidate, the position comes with outstanding research space, a collaborative scientific environment, and a competitive start-up package.

Minimum position requirements include a medical degree (MD or equivalent) with fellowship training in neuropathology and expertise in the histopathologic and molecular diagnostic evaluation of brain and spinal cord needed to make accurate ADRD diagnoses. The successful candidate will be expected to formulate clear and detailed neuropathology diagnostic reports after brain donation for distribution to next-of-kin and investigators and have expertise in biorepository operations or a related field. Previous experience in an NIH-funded Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) is desired but not required.

The successful candidate will be eligible for faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with their experience and will have an established track record of leadership and academic productivity. There will be ample opportunity to teach and mentor Ph.D. students, clinical trainees, and postdoctoral fellows who are affiliated with CSMC training programs.
