About the Scheller College of Business at the Georgia Institute of Technology The Law & Ethics area consists of world class business legal academics focused on bridging law and business to enhance business practices, decision making, and legal policy. Our lecturers have drawn on their legal education, practice experience, and a dedication to education to offer fundamentals of business law and develop electives of particular interest to them and the GA Tech community. They also engage with service at the highest levels and engage with advancing teaching/professional knowledge and excellence. Our area includes the former Dean of Scheller College; internationally recognized experts on cybersecurity and law, one of whom has served in the White House and as one of five experts on President Obama's Review Group on Intelligence and Communications Technology; a former Skadden fellow and leader in using machine learning techniques to study and improve the court system; and the former Academic Research Counsel to Google, Inc. who also worked on the Cory Booker for Mayor campaign. The area has published in top law reviews and journals including, U. Penn Law Review, N.Y.U. Law Review, Texas Law Review, Georgetown Law Journal, Harvard Journal of Law and Technology, American Business Law Journal, Business Ethics Quarterly, Yale Journal on Regulation. The Law & Ethics Area in the Scheller College of Business at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta, Georgia is seeking Non-Tenure track faculty candidates at the rank of Lecturer of Law & Ethics. Responsibilities
Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, conducting research, and providing service to the College, Institute, and the law & ethics profession. Faculty will be required to have a teaching load of three (3 semester hours each) courses per year. The salary is competitive with leading research universities. Instruction duties will involve coverage of the core Legal Aspects of Business survey class at the undergraduate level. The ability to teach business ethics at the MBA level is also possible and desired. In addition, as Scheller Lecturers are academic professionals, candidates with the ability to teach electives are preferred. Examples of past electives and current needs range from entrepreneurship to real estate to international business to commercial law. A desire to publish research or practical writing is encouraged and welcome. In general candidates will be expected to offer:
