Strong candidates in all areas of computing will be considered. We are an inter-disciplinary, family-friendly department located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our research and instruction push the boundaries in both traditional Computer Science and its intersections with other fields.

UNM CS is committed to excellence in both undergraduate and graduate education, offering an ABET-accredited BS undergraduate program with over 650 majors, and MS and PhD programs with 100 graduate students. Our programs include a strong Computer Science core as well as opportunities for interdisciplinary education through cross-disciplinary programs such as the Interdisciplinary Film and Digital Media (IFDM) program, UNM Computer Science for All (CS4All), and the Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) graduate certificate program.

The Department has sixteen tenure-track faculty whose research is funded by agencies including NSF, NIH, DARPA, ARO, NASA, and DOE. All faculty hires are growth positions. We are a collegial department housed in the newly renovated Farris Engineering Center. Our faculty excel in interdisciplinary research through numerous collaborations with other UNM schools, departments, and research centers such as the Center for Biomedical Engineering, the Center for Advanced Research Computing, the ARTS (Art, Research, Technology, and Science) Lab, and the UNM Health Sciences Center.

In addition, UNM has extensive ties and a long history of collaboration with nearby research centers such as Los Alamos and Sandia National Laboratories, the Santa Fe Institute, and the Air Force Research Laboratory.
