Job Description

To graciously welcome guests to the hotel by offering them assistance with their baggage and directions to the Front Desk, while effectively managing the flow of traffic in and out of the Motor Lobby. The Doorman is typically the first employee the guest comes in contact with and this initial interaction is vital to the guest's experience.



Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

    Greet all guests and welcome them to the hotel.
  • Unloads the baggage from the car or taxi and brings it inside to the Bellstand.
  • Tags guest baggage with the proper claim checks and gives the guest his/her claim ticket for the baggage.
  • Direct guests to the Front Desk.
  • Calls taxi for guests as needed.
  • Assists the Bell Captain with all luggage storage and retrieval.
  • Loads the baggage in the cars or taxis for departing guests, thanking them for choosing our hotel.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly appearance of the work area at all times.
  • Controls the traffic flow in and out of the Motor Lobby.
  • Notifies the Front Desk and Guest Services of VIP arrivals whenever possible.
  • Raise, lower and maintain flags as requested
  • All other duties as requested by management
  • Ensure work area is clean and clear of standing water, debris or any objects that can obstruct the job duties from being performed safely, efficiently and effectively.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management

Tools and Equipment:

  • Computer and printer, telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine, facsimile machine
  • Bell Stand and Bell-Carts

Working Environment:

  • Exterior and on occasion interior of hotel with exposure to weather condition
  • May be required to lift/carry luggage weighing up to 50lbs


Qualifications

* Attain a high propensity for customer service.
* Previous cash handling experience.
* Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
* May require working overnight shift.
* Computer Skills (Synergy, Nucleus, Epitome, Vision, GoConcierge, Microsoft Office)
