Job Summary |
We are seeking a skilled Instructional Designer II to develop engaging, science-based educational content for the BrainHealth app at the Center for BrainHealth. The role focuses on translating neuroscience research into accessible formats (courses, articles, videos, infographics, interactive media) while working closely with subject matter experts. Expertise in instructional design, copywriting, and use of content management systems (Contentful) is essential for delivering content though our platform designed to foster brain healthy habits. |
Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelor's degree in instructional technology, education, communications, information technology, curriculum design or related field; three to five years experience in course design, curriculum design or e-learning, preferably in higher education; experience with graphic and multimedia authoring software and Web site design software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
- Collaborate with SMEs to create engaging, consumer-friendly learning content.
- Use Contentful to manage content creation, versioning, and updates for efficient workflows.
- Apply copy-writing expertise to develop clear, compelling, and accessible educational materials.
- Design and implement innovative approaches for delivering training content across multiple modalities (e.g., email, SMS, Learning Management Systems (LMS), nudges).
- Develop and execute instructional strategies across diverse media formats.
- Ensure content is scientifically accurate, engaging, and tailored to diverse audiences.
- Analyze content performance metrics and adjust materials to enhance learning outcomes.
- Stay current with emerging instructional design tools, trends, and best practices.
- Maintain cohesive brand messaging across all content platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver content on time and within scope.

Additional Information |
After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. May be required to use personal computer and other standard office equipment. Must be located within the
DFW area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required. |
