SUMMARY: DAWSON is seeking an Environmental Manager for various construction projects at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH) in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Environmental Manager must have a minimum of 5 years of environmental work-related experience and must be on-site during work operations at all times. Annual salary $70,000- $90,000 based on experience and interview. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for coordinating contractor compliance with federal, state, local, and installation requirements;
- Ensure compliance with Hazardous Waste Program requirements (including hazardous waste handling, storage, manifesting, and disposal);
- Implement the Environmental Protection Plan (EPP);
- Ensure environmental permits are obtained, maintained, complied with, and closed out;
- Ensure compliance with Stormwater Program requirements;
- Ensure compliance with Hazardous Materials (storage, handling, and reporting) requirements;
- Coordinate any remediation of regulated substances (lead, asbestos, PCB transformers);
- Ensure waste segregation and storage compatibility requirements are met;
- Inspect and manage Satellite Accumulation areas;
- Ensure only authorized personnel add wastes to containers;
- Ensure Contractor personnel are trained in 40 CFR requirements in accordance with their position requirements;
- Coordinate the removal of waste containers; and
- Maintain the Environmental Records binder and required documentation, including environmental permits compliance, inspection checklists, and close-out records.
QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate for the Environmental Manager will have already completed the following training or be willing to complete within 30 days of hiring:
- City and County of Honolulu Erosion Control Plan Coordinator;
- RCRA Hazardous Waste Management or equivalent Training (minimum 24 hours) plus Annual RCRA Hazardous Waste Refresher Training (8 hours) in accordance with 40 CFR 262.17(a)(7) and 40 CFR 265.16;
- Department of Transportation, Transportation of Hazardous Materials Training in accordance with 49 CFR 172.704.
