We are searching for a talented Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Hours: 32 flex 40hrs

Shift: Day Shift with weekend, holiday and on call rotation

Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.



Responsibilities

Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Radiology Clinical Services or designee, perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within assigned modality as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request. Obtain pertinent information from patients chart and document all data within the EHR. Educate patient for exam. Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies. Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals and radiopharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure. Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images. Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality. Apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self and others and aware of MR safety practices. Assist physicians in performing procedures.



Qualifications

  • Successful completion of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology and attainment of primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine, RT(N) or from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, CNMT within one year of eligibility.
  • Current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island is required based on location assignment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) is required.
