KENANSVILLE, NC As a member of the Maintenance Engineering Team, the Plant Technical Manager will be responsible for oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of technological company systems and processes, including troubleshooting any potential issues focusing on Industry 4.0 projects and automation for Kenansville Facility. The Role: Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Follow all safety standards.
- Manage department of trained personnel to include Electricians, Controls Engineers, Mechanics, and HVAC techs.
- Design and Development of key strategical equipment installation.
- Responsible for maintaining plant PM program using a CMMS.
- Maintain the reliability of the building utility systems and facility infrastructure equipment.
- Support Operations through continuous improvement methods.
- Failure analysis to optimize equipment up time, including root cause analysis to continually improve PM program.
- Assist in troubleshooting of equipment failure or downtime.
- Other duties as assigned.
- This includes capital projects requiring the design, construction, expansion and/or upgrades of new and existing facilities, equipment, power distribution, auxiliary process systems, and material handling systems to support our manufacturing operations.
- Serves as subject matter expert on the maintenance processes within the plant.
- Ensure prompt resolution of potentials hazards throughout the plant; report out on unsafe practices and provide immediate corrective action.
- Provide recommendations on facility improvements to meet or exceed goals and plans.
- Ensure operations are efficiently maintained by completing project functions on time and within or below budget.
- Manage and support engineering and maintenance staff, aid, and direction.
- Support the facilities processes of installation, startup, repair, training, and modifications.
- Responsible for management of preventative maintenance of production machinery and facilities inspections.
- Reviews work orders and provides estimates and materials needed.
- Oversight of location supply room and conformance to policy.
- Continuously provide recommendations and process improvements.
- Completes maintenance and repair records.
- Demonstrates knowledge of IATF/TS16949 processes and successfully completes required follow-up on non-conformities and corrective actions.
- Utilizes several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, HVAC, welding.
- Main point of contact for outside contractors, oversees and inspects work performed by outside contractors.
- Responsible for quick response in emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
- Ability to communicate and present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
- Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
Your Qualifications:
- Four-year degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Prior experience in managing maintenance group of 20+ people is required.
- Controls integrations and understanding.
- Automation and Textile experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of the business.
- Willingness to learn and grow.
- Understanding of textile manufacturing methods.
- Prior experience in managing direct reports and contractors is required.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel is required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Lean/Six Sigma Greenbelt trained preferred
- Ability to coach and develop associates in continuous improvement methods
- Ability to implement change Principles and practices of effective business communication; basic report writing methods and techniques; correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent hand, finger, and wrist movement to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Requires standing (80%) and walking (10%).
- The employee frequently is required to talk, listen/use hearing, stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch, and/or use repetitive hand motions.
