Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Manager (Partnership Development) within the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Reporting to the Senior Director of Administration, this position is responsible for development, implementation, evaluation, improvement, and communication of program and statewide partnership strategies for Cancer Health Equity Center of Excellence (CHECoE) and community outreach and engagement (
COE) efforts (including ScreenNJ and related initiatives). This includes supervision, direction, and strategic oversight of personnel, systems, resources, activities, and budgets to ensure cross-functional alignment, progress towards goals, and consistent communication to partners, staff, funders, and other stakeholders.
Among the key duties for this position are the following:
- Strategic, tactical, and operational planning of Center initiatives, services, and resources to define, operationalize, and achieve CHECoE and ScreenNJ program goals.
- Development, implementation, and direction of CHECoE and ScreenNJ activities, services, and content.
- Evaluation, data collection, and assessment to continuously improve the quality, impact and efficiency of the CHECoE and ScreenNJ related efforts.
- Communication, collaboration, and bi-directional partner engagement to extend, enhance, and sustain center CHECoE efforts.
- Supervision, management, and development of staff to support CHECoE and ScreenNJ efforts

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's Degree in public health, health sciences, health care policy, or a related field required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all Rutgers and external constituencies. Excellent organizational, writing, and project management skills are critical.
- Demonstrated ability to manage numerous projects and people simultaneously.
- Demonstrated effective oral skills and written communication skills.
- Ability to guide teams and work with partners to set and achieve clear goals and results.
- Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Outstanding human relations and leadership skills, and the ability to function in a team environment are required.
- Must have a valid driver's license and access to a car for daytime travel.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Master's preferred; plus a minimum of five (5) years of progressively more responsible experience in public health, healthcare, healthcare policy, public relations, educational outreach, research and sponsored programs administration, project management, or related services.
- Knowledge of how to accomplish superior performance in a unionized environment is preferred.
