PRINCIPAL PRODUCT MANAGER, PSS LIVE SERVICES

This role is open to US-based permanent remote arrangements.

THE ROLE

As a Principal Product Manager, you will work as part of the central Live Services games team at PlayStation Studios. Your primary responsibility is to work as a subject matter expert, collaborating with a small central team to support game studios and with other partners (analytics, marketing, etc.) to help build, launch, and manage successful live service games, while helping studios to build out top-notch embedded capabilities.

Under the guidance of the Director of Product Management, you will partner closely with multiple teams to use data, insights, user testing, and creative solutions, to inform product development with a keen sense of critical product KPI's and game health.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Support product management across multiple live and upcoming titles from PlayStation Studios to help effectively build out capabilities and successfully launch and manage their live service titles.





  • Evaluate design specs and mockups, identify and quantify risks, assess and advise on mitigation strategies, and assist with roadmap for validation throughout multiple project development cycles.





  • Identify and escalate opportunities for product performance growth for various titles, and support improvement initiatives to a successful outcome through strong analysis and reporting.





  • Work with the studios and Director of PM to drive ongoing initiatives to ensure we successfully deliver against performance goals





  • Help define and share best practices to support game studios standing up and evolving their processes and capabilities.





  • Provide hands-on support to studios across various core competencies from performance reporting to feature design to live content and revenue strategy.





  • Track and report on metrics and KPIs in partnership with other publishing level resources (game analytics, user research, marketing, etc.) to measure and reflect customer success, and assess capacity to meet forecast targets.





  • Collaborate with game analytics teams to define telemetry needs, build hypotheses, and interpret behavior from data surrounding game performance.



REQUIRED SKILLS



  • Experience in product management for live service games, preferably with experience on AAA Console/PC titles.





  • Proven business acumen with strategic and analytical capabilities, using data to inform decisions.





  • Expert data fluency and track record of partnering with analytics, research, and insights groups.





  • Social intelligence, great interpersonal skills, and empathy for creative teams.





  • Experience with game economy and/or monetization strategy and experience with analytical tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, etc.).





  • Good understanding of statistics, hypothesis testing, and scientific methods.





  • Working knowledge of different types of games, genres, and business models (F2P, paid, cosmetic economy, etc.).





  • Ability to understand, conceptualize, and abstract the design of game systems, features, and mechanics, providing recommendations and strategic guidance.





  • Experience working with publishing partners (marketing, release management, store, etc.).





  • Deep passion for games and ability to evaluate and break down the components of what makes a successful live game.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$180,600 $270,800 USD
