Real Estate company in Downtown Manhattan is looking for an Accounting Director.
Hybrid work schedule

Job Description
*Lead day to day accounting operations of the business including overseeing the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
*Manage the monthly and quarterly accounting close process for sponsorships and property accounting.
*Review monthly financial statements to ensure compliance with GAAP and the company's accounting policy and present them to the executive team.
*Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances in a timely manner to ensure accuracy of ledger.
*Manage 3rd party relationships, ensuring accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP.
*Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
*Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide feedback to team members.
*Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure proper accounting treatment for complex transactions.
*Monitor compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
*Support annual budget process in cooperation with finance team and other departments.
*Assist with internal and external audits. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
*Continuously evaluate and optimize financial systems, tools, and workflows.

Background
*Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
*5+ years proven experience in a senior-level accounting or finance role, with progressively increasing responsibilities.
*Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
*Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
*Experience in supporting accounting close process
