This is a non-rotating, straight 8-hour shift position with a normal schedule of M-F, but some weekends may be required.

Safety
The operator follows prescribed safety procedures (Ref. SHMS 004).

Responsibilities
The verdol machine technician is responsible for the following:

1. Starting the machines according to the volkmann/verdol/ICBT twisting layout (Ref. MIC 3517,
FWKINST 2:2.0-3.1).
2. Taking a front roll ft/min check on the front roll of each verdol (Ref. FWKINST 2: 5.0,
FFORM 23).
3. Checking the revolutions per minute of verdol spindles every three hours (Ref. FWKINST 2:4.0-5, FFORM 31).
4. Repairing or swapping spindles and magnetic tension devices (Ref. FWKINST 2:6.0) and
logging the exchange on the log sheet. (Ref FFORM 32).
5. Flag fixing.
6. Repairing mechanical breakdowns that require less than two hours of repair time (Ref.
FWKINST 2:8.0).
7. Performing lot changes (Ref. FWKINST 2:12.0).
8. Maintaining assigned machines.
9. Performing gear setups on verdols due to lot changes.
10. Performing strobe cycles to detect soft twist on a 3-hour frequency and recording on verdol strobe cycle sheet (Ref. FFORM 31).
11. Performing equipment calibration as trained (Ref. LWKINST 2 in the Quality Control Manual).
12. Routinely serving as an assignment leader in the verdo/volkmann room (Ref. SPI 19) in the SPI manual.
13. Completing the daily downtime Tracking log. (Ref SPIFORM19 in the SPI Manual)
14. Tightening Verdol Twist Belts (Ref. FWKINST3)
15. When cutting wraps from overfeed, check the overfeed belt for any weakened sections. Change
Belt if necessary.
16. Maintain Verdol Waste Log. (Ref. FFORM47)
17. Complete Vendor Yarn Waste By Shift (Ref. FFRORM44) and Plied Yarn Waste By Shift (Ref.
FFORM45)
