SUMMARY OF POSITION:

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate for an Engineering Internship position in its Sustaining Engineering department. With help from Sustaining Engineering mentors, the candidate will be responsible for individual project work as well as broader team activities. These tasks include support of Manufacturing Operations, verification and validation testing, design and execution of experiments, development of test fixtures, and building meaningful relationships with staff, both on and off-site.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Work with Sustaining Engineers to apply engineering design concepts.

* Work with Sustaining Engineers to set up experiments and test design environments.

* Attend and contribute to both engineering and cross-functional team meetings.

* Create and update verification and validation protocols.

* Author test reports using Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

* Create tools, test equipment and develop specifications.

* Support the design and testing of mechanical, electrical and/or software designs.

* Promote teamwork during internal and external interactions.

* Work with Sustaining and QA Engineers to assist and execute changes via an eQMS system.

EDUCATION:

Either a recent graduate of, or currently pursuing Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES

* Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

* Technical writing: requirements, protocols, test results, procedures, and reports.

* Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and verbal communication.

* Organized individual with strong attention to detail.

* Ability to work in a team environment, or autonomously.

* Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

* Nice to have: Familiar with medical terminology, procedures, and instrumentation.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Typical days will be spent in a combination of office and laboratory environments, 5 days/week onsite. (Flexible on hours worked ) #ZR
