Position Summary

The Cybersecurity Lead Analyst (C5ISR) is a senior-level role responsible for leading all cybersecurity operations related to Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems. This individual ensures the protection, compliance, and operational integrity of these mission-critical systems under U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and industry cybersecurity standards. The position entails proactive risk management, policy enforcement, and coordination with internal and external defense stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cybersecurity Operations Leadership
    Direct all cybersecurity functions supporting C5ISR systems, including vulnerability assessments, security monitoring, incident response, and threat analysis.
  • Security Policy Implementation
    Develop, maintain, and enforce enterprise-level cybersecurity policies and procedures aligned with applicable regulations, including NIST frameworks and the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • System Security Compliance
    Oversee the secure configuration and continuous monitoring of C5ISR platforms, communications systems, and networks. Coordinate with defense and government entities to ensure full compliance with DoD directives and standards.
  • Incident Response Management
    Lead coordinated efforts to detect, respond to, and recover from cybersecurity incidents. Serve as the primary escalation point for major threats and breaches involving C5ISR systems.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation
    Identify cybersecurity risks across operational environments. Develop risk mitigation strategies that safeguard classified and sensitive information systems.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration
    Work cross-functionally with engineering, program management, compliance, and third-party vendors to implement security best practices and integrated system protection.
  • Security Auditing and Reporting
    Conduct internal security audits and prepare for government-led assessments. Compile comprehensive reports for executive leadership, summarizing risk posture, remediation progress, and compliance status.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Transfer
    Provide leadership and mentorship to junior cybersecurity personnel. Facilitate training on emerging threats, secure coding practices, and DoD cyber readiness requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least three (3) years in a leadership capacity
  • Demonstrated expertise in the security requirements and architecture of C5ISR systems
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks including NIST, RMF, FISMA, and DoD 8500 series
  • Proficient in using and managing cybersecurity tools such as:
    • SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar)
    • IDS/IPS
    • Vulnerability scanners (e.g., Nessus, Tenable)
    • Endpoint and encryption solutions
  • Experience conducting threat analysis and implementing advanced threat protection techniques
  • Familiarity with anti-tamper requirements and U.S. Government system accreditation processes (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Security Clearance

  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance at the appropriate level.

Work Environment and Travel

  • Primarily on-site in Pascagoula, MS
  • Occasional travel may be required to support audits, program reviews, or training sessions at partner or government locations.
