Southwire Job Description

Reporting to Southwire's VP of Strategic Verticals, the Director of Data Center, Colo will be responsible for profitable sales growth of Southwire products and services through distribution and direct sales models. She or he achieves this goal by driving sales of the Southwire portfolio of products with a specific set of data center owners in the colocation segment of the market. She or he will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with end customers, distributors, and EPC's supporting the installer base, and driving Southwire specification position with the major colocation, data center owners. This individual will also be responsible for working closely with Southwire product management, applications engineering and R&D to ensure a high level of service and advance the business objectives as identified within the multi-year strategic plan.

Description of Duties & Responsibilities

* Develop and execute strategic plan for the data center, colocation segment of the market vertical.

* Build and manage effective customer relationships with the Major US data center owners, EPC's (Engineer, Procure & Install), Installers and Distribution channels that support business objectives within the assigned colocation market segment.

* Provide market intelligence as necessary to position Southwire for growth and profit opportunities.

* Identify opportunities to "Drive Mix" either through further penetration with customers, products, or potential services.

* Proactively manage all aspects of the data center, colocation market to ensure profitability

* Create a solution driven, leadership persona both internally and externally while collaborating with other functions within the corporation and customer organizations.

* Encourage team building in a high performing work environment through on-going developmental training, leadership, and people management skills.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business or Engineering with proven technical aptitude.

* Minimum 5 years of relevant industry work experience and 5 + years Sales, Product Management and or engineering experience within the Data Center market

* Minimum 5 years' experience and existing relationships within the colocation segment of data center with owners and their approved contractor base.

* Prior customer service experience and sales management experience

* Effectively manage channel conflict as arises from strategy execution or dictated by changing market.

* Requires strong financial understanding, management experience and analytical skills to work through complex issues in all areas of the business.

* Requires a team player attitude continuously articulated in a well thought out vision and communicated effectively, holding his / her team accountable for attainment of set goals.

* Must be skilled at using Southwire IT Systems including, but not limited to SAP, Salesforce and other Southwire sales tools, as well as Microsoft Office suite.

* Requires up to 60% travel throughout the US.
