Compensation Grade: P18Compensation Details: Minimum: $63,887.00 - Maximum: $63,887.00 AnnuallyDepartment (OPQS) - Health Data InnovationJob Description: Responsibilities The Software Engineer/Developer will perform computer application development activities in support of the New York State Department of Health Strategic Planning Process for all DOH programs. Specific duties will include: contribute to the development, testing, implementation, and deployment of user-friendly and interactive simulators and other tools for DOH Strategic Planning process across all programs; explore and build new and innovative tools for systematically analyzing, supporting, and communicating the Department's strategic plan and performance-cased decision making; unit testing of software components; joint application design sessions; contribute to the release management process; and other appropriate related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and two years of computer programming, database design/development, or systems analysis; OR four years of such experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Java and JavaScript libraries such as AngularJS. Experience with RESTFUL and SOAP webservices. Experience with Object Oriented Development methodology and design from specifications expressed by use cases, class diagrams, interaction diagrams and sequence diagrams. Experience developing database tables, views and stored procedures. Experience with GIT/Jenkins/Maven. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
