As a Manager Trainee, the selected candidate will work across all areas of the facility throughout the year and be a vital part of the management team.

Responsibilities:

Ag Department (February - July)





    • Assist with contracting of raw product, planting operations, scheduling, crop growth evaluation, and maturity evaluation
    • Communicate with growers, landowners, department leads, and other employees planting and harvesting progress, needs, and updates
    • Develop an in-depth understanding of raw product flow including truck routing, product grading, and harvest planning
    • Learn harvest equipment functions and raw product harvesting process
    • Use leadership and team management skills in safety focused environment
    • Other duties as assigned




Plant/Manufacturing (July - November)





    • Observe and react to dynamic work environment
    • Track and review record-keeping process during sweetcorn pack
    • Develop an understanding of the many facets of the processing facility
    • Utilize skills as self-starter to champion your own projects and duties
    • Develop and build relationships with plant team relying on leadership and team management skills
    • Participate in safety audits and implement changes or improvements
    • Other duties as assigned




Warehouse (November - February)





    • Gain understanding of warehouse activities, dry and frozen
    • Coordinate inventory levels to match shipping needs
    • Work with labeling planner and inventory coordinator
    • Participate and assist with floor activities
    • Understand and partake in ordering ingredients for future item codes/products
    • Assist with year-end inventory
    • Coordinate shipping and receiving traffic for dry and frozen warehouses
    • Participate in audits with safety team
    • Other duties as assigned




Qualifications:



  • Excellent soft communication skills
  • Bi-lingual skills helpful, but not required
  • Self-starting mentality and ability to work through a project with general overview of tasks
  • Genuine interest to be taught and learn from others through observation
  • A positive attitude and willingness to put others first
  • Comfortable with Excel documents and record-keeping software
  • Strong desire to take on challenges facing the company
  • Interest and ability to work outside the state of Minnesota in the future
  • Demonstration of strong leadership skills
  • Excels at time management and task prioritization
  • Desire and ability to think critically; demonstration of such skill
  • Attention to detail in manufacturing environment
