Supervisor of Health Services

The Supervisor of Health Services is responsible for supervising program staff. You will provide technical guidance and training to staff related to the contract/program operations. Health management services may include population health management, practice facilitation, medical/utilization management, case/disease/maternity management, and/or quality improvement activities. The position will be responsible for monitoring compliance per client and contract deliverables as well as service/accreditation requirements as applicable.
Hybrid requirements: This role will report to the West Des Moines office on Mondays and Wednesdays. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday can be remote.

Essential Functions
  • Supervises day-to-day operation of staff to ensure compliance with program protocols, state requirements and URAC accreditation standards as applicable.
  • Ensures the operations of the contract/program are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Selects, develops, and manages employees to achieve individual, team, and organizational success.
  • Ensures employee accountability through routine observation, performance measurement, and performance feedback.
  • Fulfills Telligen's Management Philosophy that "Managers coach, engage, and support our people to achieve results".
  • Performs audits or quality monitoring of staff to provide feedback on strengths and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develops training protocols for staff and patient education tools to be used for orientation and ongoing education, which addresses operating protocols, URAC accreditation and/or state requirements as applicable, and workflow processes.
  • Stays abreast of healthcare trends and changes.
  • Actively manages a caseload with UM and/or CM
Requirements
  • Current, unencumbered RN licensure
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program
  • Four-year degree in business or health-related field and /or equivalent training and/or experience
  • 3-5 years of clinical experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role or has demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Utilization management experience preferred.
  • Motivational interviewing skills are preferred.
  • Knowledge of URAC and NCQA is preferred.
  • Must be willing to obtain Case Management certification within 3 years of hire.
  • Experience with case management and/or utilization management is preferred.
