Job Description
The Product Owner is responsible for managing the development of the product from start to finish to ensure it meet the needs of the client and complies with all requirements and regulations. Acts as a liaison, anticipates and communicates customers' needs, and functions as the product ambassador. Treasury Management Product Owner acts as advocate for treasury management products and services across the organizations. The Product Owner develops the treasury management product strategy to position the Bank to be and remain competitive as it relates to the target treasury management availability, implementation, performance, value and product need and capabilities. The Product Owner assists Sales team with client opportunities as requested and/or needed. The Product Owner communicates product value propositions across the organization and supports development and implementation of Go-to-Market strategies related to product development and enhancement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain subject matter expertise on all TM activities including all commercial, high risk and cash intensive businesses. Guidance on matters is expected both internally and externally.
- Regularly communicate inside the NB Organization including the Commercial & Industrial Division, Project Management Office and other Senior Leaders to arrange meetings, confirm expectations, and discuss product development plans, future product installs and any other program problems.
- Manage TM project budgets and timelines.
- Drive the definition and execution of the products 1 - 3-year strategy including P&L projections, new product assessment, target segments/markets, product capabilities and ensure product strategy is clearly articulated with internal partners including Commercial Banking Officers, Retail Branch Partners, IT staff, BSA, Compliance, Deposit Operations, etc.
- Facilitate internal coordination to support the program. Develop and maintain relationships by:
- Working with the IT, Sales, Operations and Compliance, to identify partners critical to scaling Financial Services offerings
- Functioning as project liaison and workstream leader for TM to help define business requirements, coordinate testing/Q&A and navigate customer impacts with releases, systems and enhancements
- Collaborating with Marketing and Risk & Compliance on customer communications for TM related to product developments, new launches and any applicable updates
- Monitoring, measuring, and reporting on key business and customer metrics in collaboration with Data & Analytics.
- Support sales and contribute to external market research; work within the organization to create/offer solutions to meet those client needs. Design and evaluate pricing hypotheses across the Division in collaboration with Sales and Product Teams.
- Participate with TM and Commercial & Industrial senior leadership in managing internal and external affairs by staying abreast of customer needs, communicating regularly, identifying issues and opportunities, and representing the Bank.
- Ensure launch activities are complete for new products and services.
- Identify new product offerings and technology improvements available in the marketplace.
- Understand the regulatory environment in the region and stay abreast of changes.
- Act as an internal advocate of TM products/services
- Work with program leadership to understand current client and product portfolio in the Bank including profitability and risk profile
- Present on behalf of the TM to external and internal partners
- Act as intra and inter-department coordinator for the TM; monitor the various teams and implement/QC strategy
- Monitor and support new workflows and designs relative to product updates, enhancements and new launches.
- Participate in business line strategic planning
- Provide feedback to Technology on initial builds, and review results of User Acceptance Testing
- Serve as training resource during rollout of applications to Sales and Client Service staff
- Represent bank and clients at industry events, local associations, meetings and conferences; present roadmaps and thought leadership
Experience and Skills
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Able to operate at strategic and tactical level
- Experience working closely with the sales teams and senior management
- Demonstrated experience creating businesses cases for product enhancements and presenting to executive team
- Excellent leadership skills and able to collaborate across multiple functional areas, including Product, Operations, Sales, Marketing, etc. and at Senior levels
- Strong knowledge of all products and services with a comfortable grasp of technology; a proven generator of ideas and history of bringing products to market
- Strategic thinker with the ability to motivate others and drive tactical execution across multiple functional areas; able to effectively prioritize initiatives and multi-task
- Understand and analyze industry trends for Cannabis including risk and regulatory developments, market research, sizing and competitive analysis for the region
- Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive process improvement efforts
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- College degree is required.
- At least 5 years of experience with a Financial Institution or vendor supporting Cannabis banking
- Project management/program management experience preferred.
