The Role:

This role is responsible for technical leadership and coordination of activities relating to support, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes for several MFG sites for he MC Division (MA site focus). This role involves leading cross-functional teams to investigate operational and organizational deficiencies within the current processes, and to design improvements and implement more efficient/effective systems. This role will interact with all affected functional areas/levels and will drive continuous improvement through the relentless pursuit of identifying and eliminating waste in all processes. This role teaches and models root cause analysis, problem-solving, actions to prevent a recurrence, standard work, and follow-up. And is viewed as an expert in these areas and speaks with authority and confidence when engaging others.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for prioritization and coordination of teams to drive continuous improvement projects across the site.

  • Establishes baseline and target metrics for key processes to drive cost effective improvements.

  • Participates in business cost proposals and identifies areas of significant opportunity for improvement.

  • Assist in setting performance objectives and developing plans which target inefficient processes.

  • Provides facilitation and support for initial and ongoing Lean events (Kaizens, Value Stream Mapping, and Lean Training) to ensure consistency and proper application of Lean tools & processes.

  • Act as change agent by leading and training employees in process improvement methodologies.

  • Leads focused efforts aimed at breakthrough and incremental improvements in process, department, and/or line-specific opportunities that meet and exceed plant operational performance metrics.

Required:

  • Have proficiency in Windows-based computer applications.

  • BSME or equivalent and 2 years of Continuous Improvement experience.

  • Ability to read and write in the English language. Reading specs and following work instructions.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt.

  • Basic knowledge and experience of equipment and processes in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work with cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, computer, and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Must have a working knowledge of foundational LEAN tools and root cause problem solving methodology including:

  • 6S methodology

  • Value Stream mapping

  • Identification and elimination of the 8 forms of Waste

  • Ability to lead and/or co-lead process improvement projects.

  • Experience in facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills. The ability to drive change.

  • Excellent reading, writing and verbal communication skills. Strong teaching and presentation skills required.

  • Solid analytical/statistical problem-solving skill; ability to analyze and interpret basic statistical data.

  • Strong Assessment and Continuous Improvement skills to identify, define and scope opportunities for improvement.

  • Must be self-driven and accountable.

  • Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.

  • Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members.

Preferred experience:

  • 4-Year bachelor's degree in STEM or Business.

  • Willingness, flexibility, and commitment required to succeed in a high demand, broad responsibility, team environment.

  • Record of accomplishment that clearly identifies him/her as having contributed to the success of his/her existing organization.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of problem-solving techniques.

  • Competent in use of Microsoft tools including Word, Power Point and Excel.

  • Proven ability to analyze data and draw conclusions.

  • Proven ability to work in team environment with strong communication skills and proven ability to interface with plant personnel.

  • Ability to deliver pre-packaged training programs.
