Summary of Job Duties:Under direction, the UADA Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing operational support in a functional area by gathering, analyzing, and preparing data; creating related reports and documentation; and providing technical assistance related to the operational function to management and internal clients.

The UADA Technical Support Specialist is a key member of the ITS Field Operations team and a point of contact for Research Stations and Extension Offices across the state. This position works closely with the UADA ITS Helpdesk to provide remote and in-person technical support for UADA students, faculty, and staff using UADA computers, software applications, research equipment, and other services supported by the UADA ITS team.

This position must identify issues, triage the problems causing the issue, and seek a solution using the needed resources of the UADA ITS team by coordinating with other UADA ITS technicians when needed. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or relevant field.

  • Ability to travel to stations across the state.

  • Minimum of two years' experience providing end-user support for current PC desktop and application software.

  • Microsoft Office experience preferred.

  • Proven experience as a call center technician or other customer support role.

  • Tech savvy with a good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products.

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic computer/technical issues.

  • Keen attention to detail, memory of patterns, and interest in problem-solving.

  • Excellent communication skills. Proficiency in English.

  • Customer-oriented and cool-tempered.

  • Ability to support computer equipment such as workstations and portable devices.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to speak, write clearly & communicate ideas successfully.

  • Ability to organize, plan, & prioritize work.

  • Ability to attend to details while simultaneously handling multiple projects.

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, & apply relevant regulations, policies, & procedures.
