HJF is seeking a Research Project Manager III to drive successful completion of key deliverables and stated objectives for a single project or multiple non-integrated projects by coordinating and monitoring the status of work performed by technical staff. Typically works on moderate to high complexity projects and reports to a Program Manager.

This position will be in support of the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE), supporting Blast Clinical Threshold Working Group located in Bethesda, MD on the campus of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. NICoE is a DoD institute dedicated to providing cutting-edge evaluation, treatment, and research for service members dealing with complex interactions of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and psychological health (PH) conditions.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.


Responsibilities

  • Provided project oversight to include resource allocation, meeting facilitation, tracking tasks/deliverables in support of the Blast Clinical Threshold Working Group project team.
  • Coordinates efforts of all agencies involved in the project process.
  • Works with the study team to assist with data coordination, abstraction, input, and analysis.
  • Reviews applicable IRB documentation and protocols, prepares revisions, and submits required institution and federal documentation in support of project execution.
  • Research background information in support of project execution.
  • Initiate and monitor execution of associated agreements to assist with project execution.
  • Ensures compliance with appropriate rules and regulations as well as reviews project progress and recommends revisions, amendments, and/or other project changes as necessary to better meet sponsor needs.
  • Coordinates, assists, and provides contributions for preparation of scientific papers, status reports, presentations, and publications.
  • Provide oversight of project budget to include forecasting and approving expenditures.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Assigned Lead: May recommend the following: employee hiring, disciplinary action, and starting salaries; provide input on employee performance evaluations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience is required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Significant background in Neuroscience and or TBI research.
  • Knowledge of federal and local regulations and policies pertinent to research involving human subjects.
  • Familiarity with clinical research methods.
  • Must understand data management and verification.
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely.
  • Published work strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a T3/Secret Clearance.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.

Compensation

  • The annual salary range for this position is $73,800-$125,600. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
