Work Schedule
8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Monday - Friday with evening, weekend, and holiday work hours required in conjunction with events.

This position is designated as a mandatory position in the event of adverse weather conditions or other emergency operations.
Primary Purpose of Position
The Assistant Director for Athletics Technical Support directs, operates, and maintains the audio visual systems located in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center and other Athletic Facilities.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from a four year college or university and at least three years of program associate experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Essential Job Duties
The Assistant Director for Athletics Technical Supportdirects, operates, and maintains the audio visual systems located in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center and other Athletic Facilities. Including:

  • Assists in the supervision of programming, operation, and maintenance of the technical systems located in the Student Activity Center/Halton Arena and other athletic facilities. This includes but is not limited to the following: LED Video Systems, Scoreboards, Content Management Systems, Sound Systems, Lighting Systems, Projectors, and Meeting Space Technologies.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs to the software and hardware level on audio-visual systems and associated output devices.
  • Coordinate specialty technology needs for Halton Arena.
  • Advertise, recruit, hire, train, and evaluate a student staff to set up and operate all audio visual, sound, and lighting equipment.
  • Serve as technical liaison for all major events in Halton Arena.

Other Work Responsibilities
Other duties as assigned by the Director and Assistant Athletic Director for Broadcast Video and Technology.
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Graduation from a four year college or university and three years experience in sports or event facility technical services with a preference for arena and/or stadium operations.
