Role: Senior Program Manager, Technology Workforce Strategy
Location: Chicago, IL Duration: 6+ Months Job Description We are seeking a Senior Program Manager to drive our Technology Workforce Strategy, working directly with CIOs and their management teams to shift our workforce composition over the next three years. This individual will play a pivotal role in aligning workforce needs with broader business objectives, working across Technology, Finance, and HR to monitor progress, escalate challenges, and ensure that our strategy is executed with precision. This position requires an experienced, strategic thinker with strong program management and exceptional communication skills. Key Responsibilities: * Project Planning & Execution: Build, track, and manage a detailed project plan to ensure workforce strategic initiatives are executed on time, within scope, and in line with organizational objectives. Adjust plans as needed to address changes in priorities or risks. * Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with CIOs, Technology managers, Finance, and HR to deliver on hiring plans. Facilitate regular touchpoints to track progress and course-correct where needed. * Tracking & Reporting: Develop and maintain reporting mechanisms to track hiring, onboarding, and workforce metrics. Provide regular updates to senior leaders, identifying any bottlenecks or resource challenges. * Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between Technology, HR, and Finance teams, translating workforce needs into actionable plans, and communicating progress and challenges effectively. * Risk Management: Proactively identify risks related to workforce capacity or financial constraints, working with Technology leaders to mitigate them. * Program Delivery: Leverage deep delivery experience to ensure milestones are met on time, within scope, and in line with financial targets. * Communication: Deliver clear, concise, and effective communications to various stakeholders, including executive leadership, across written, oral, and presentation formats. * Financial Acumen: Utilize strong financial acumen to monitor program budget implications, benefit realization metrics and analyze workforce optimization opportunities. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Technology, or related field required. Master's degree preferred. Experience: Senior * Minimum of 10 years in program or project management roles, preferably within a large Technology or financial services environment. * Proven experience working with cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, and Technology) to execute large-scale workforce initiatives. * Experience with large-scale hiring initiatives within a global or multi-site organization. Skills: * Strong understanding of technology workforce dynamics, including talent acquisition, capacity planning, and workforce management. * Familiarity with financial forecasting, budget management, and risk mitigation related to workforce planning. * A proactive, results-driven mindset with the ability to work under pressure and navigate ambiguity. * Exceptional communication (written, oral, and presentation skills) with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional collaboration. * Demonstrated ability to manage complex programs and initiatives, with a track record of delivering results on time and within budget. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess challenges and drive timely solutions. * Proficiency in project management tools. |
