Position Purpose |
Working closely with the Assistant Director, Leadership Giving (LG) supports the Director of Family Giving and Engagement and the team in the planning and execution of Family Giving and Engagement (FG&E) operations. Coordinates and supports programming and event operations while working autonomously and as part of the team. Contributes to donor-focused, team-based structures through interaction with cross-functional teams in Advancement to support prospect relationships, management, and volunteer engagement. Provides general office support including comprehensive travel support, data management and reporting, volunteer lists, internal checklists and handles other operational tasks as assigned. |

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities |
* Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
* Five or more years of providing complex administrative support or office experience in related field, preferably in an academic setting
* High level of initiative, autonomy, attention to detail and proofreading skills with commitment to accuracy and producing high-quality work
* Strong technical literacy; highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and other database management software; aptitude for learning new systems
* Excellent organizational and project management skills, including ability to prioritize multiple projects/tasks, plan ahead, and work independently
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and commitment to professionalism
* Excellent customer service and team orientation with ability to effectively collaborate with others
* Ability to be perceptive and responsive to direction set forth by leadership
* Good judgment and ability to interact with a diverse group of people internal and external to Dartmouth College
* Discretion and confidentiality with donor and family-related information and other sensitive matters.
* Ability to maintain flexibility in a changing, fast-paced work environment
* Ability to understand, facilitate, and implement complex scheduling and travel arrangements. |
Preferred Qualifications |
* Customer orientation experience with high-level clients, senior members of an organization, and volunteers
* Demonstrated ability to take personal risks in resolving challenges in a complex work environment
* Experience in higher education or event coordination is a plus |

Description |
Supports data management needs of the Assistant Director, Director, and other staff members utilizing complex database systems (including Advance and Data Warehouse) in daily operations to perform tasks, including updating, maintaining, extracting and synthesizing highly confidential data to create reports and presentations that facilitate the assessment of committee, prospect, and event work. In addition, assists with email marketing, and tracks event attendance in our content management system (Advance). Assists in the recording and documentation of the Family Leadership and Fundraising Committee (
FLFC) volunteer's activity in Advance and helps with communications materials (i.e. PowerPoint slides). Maintains the full list of
FLFC Committee volunteers ensuring the information is accurate and updated. Effectively and efficiently uses Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database programs to perform individual tasks in daily operations. |

Description |
Serves as a key partner to the LG and FG&E team members. Assists team with implementing and supporting programming and events designed specifically to engage families of Dartmouth. Provides comprehensive travel preparation and planning including itineraries, post-travel follow up, and expense accounting in accordance with Dartmouth's policies and procedures. Participates in brainstorming to identify tasks and associated activities to be accomplished in a variety of areas: agenda development, scheduling, presentation support, events, and communications. Effectively communicates with a range of offices on campus to help meet objectives through FG&E programming and professionally represents the College to volunteers, families, alumni, and vendors. |
