Job Description: Summary: This internship will include work on landscape architectural and native plant community restoration projects, such as innovative stormwater treatment system design, park design, trails, vegetation surveys, and natural resource management planning. Project work will integrate sustainable landscape and ecological design principles with traditional landscape architecture. The intern will assist Barr's landscape architects, civil engineers, and natural resources group with a variety of ecologically oriented design and planning projects. The work will involve assisting with the production of construction plans, construction observation, restoration management plans, and graphics. The work will also include the production of detailed cost estimates and technical specifications related to the designs. The position offers an opportunity to contribute and learn as part of a progressive and innovative design team providing landscape architecture, landscape ecology, climate adaptation, environmental engineering, and natural resources planning services to our clients. Minimum Qualifications:
A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position can be based out of Barr's Minneapolis, Minnesota, office. Note: Applicant must be able to traverse and work in difficult terrain typical of backcountry, roadway, and construction sites, walking up to 10 miles per day in temperatures up to 98 degrees Fahrenheit. Work may also require entering and working within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of mining or other industrial facilities.
