Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Responsible for the overall management of the lab, may supervise postdoctoral associates and research support positions. Will provide training on specific specialized skills and research methods and is responsible for the operation of the lab. Develop and design research experiments with proteins, lipids, metabolites and drug compounds. Conduct research experiments utilizing specialized techniques, applying theories, concepts and principles of analytical chemistry assay development. Mass spectrometry, PCR-elisa, and multi-well plate assays are typically used to identify and/or quantitate small and large molecules. Prepare manuscripts for publications in peer reviewed and/or scientific journals. Prepare grant proposals; apply for grants, to include writing proposals for the research projects, identifying funding sources, and training opportunities. Other duties as assigned.
