Primary Purpose Responsible for supporting the BioTel Clinical Practice Program by assisting in program design, implementation, and evaluation of program initiatives. *This position will be for Dallas Fire-Rescue. *Shift: Days mostly (will be driving around city), not an office job, hours are flexible (12 hours or 8 hours or 10 hours after consultation with your manager) some weekends may be required during the year, but not on a regular basis and will come with plenty of notification, Full Time (not looking for candidate to have another job) *Education/Teaching experience really looking for *Will also be responsible for delivering in-person education to the fire department. Minimum Specifications Education * Must be a graduate of an EMT-Paramedic program. Experience * Two (2) years of experience as a Paramedic; prefer experience in a BioTel affiliated agency. Equivalent Education and/or Experience * Must have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements. Certification/Registration/Licensure * Must have current certification/license as a Texas Department of State Health Services Paramedic. * Must have current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from one of the following: * American Heart Association * American Red Cross Rescuer * Military Training Network Skills or Special Abilities * Requires professional demeanor, good communication, interpersonal, organizational, and written skills, and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. * Must be able to employ effective problem-solving and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills that can be used to develop positive, cooperative working relationships with community healthcare professionals. * Must be able to demonstrate patient-centered/patient-related behaviors. * Advanced knowledge of computer technology to access data, generate reports, maintain records, and communicate with others. * Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service. * Must be organized and creative in the educational process for both individual and large group classes. Responsibilities 1. Implements, monitors, evaluates, and reports on details regarding the outreach education programs. 2. Identifying and/or developing instructional materials needed to teach the program competencies including the development of course syllabi that outline clear and appropriate student learning outcomes and expectations that reflect program competencies. 3. Serves as a clinical role model and educational resource to ensure high-quality, effective patient services. 4. Evaluates preceptors for appropriate clinical levels 5. Educates individuals regarding research in BioTel, assists with research implementation, and tracks research projects to provide updates regarding trends, needs, and expectations. Educates agency individuals regarding research protocols and documentation needs. 6. Collaborates with EMS agencies and management staff to develop, implement and evaluate quality indicators such as case reviews. Incorporates relevant studies and findings into department practice. Coordinate's performance improvement issue resolution. 7. Maintains a database for all BioTel Clinical Practice educational and outreach initiatives 8. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction for patient education. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland. Job Accountabilities 1.
