Scope of Position The Financial Services Department provides financial information, support, and analysis to all operations within the Health System and the Medical Center. Financial information systems are maintained and supported to provide financial information and analysis of existing operations and proposed programs/projects from a financial perspective. The department provides support to the Business Units for monthly financial and statistical reporting, operating and capital budgeting, revenue management and charge entry support, reimbursement support and cost report filings, cost accounting and managed care system support, property management, accounts payable, and a wide variety of financial analysis. This position leads the overall audit function for the Health System and Medical Center as well as the consolidation of the overall Medical Center integrated financial statements. This position is committed to developing comprehensive and complex financial analysis of programs and projects, which incorporate knowledge, and understanding of healthcare and Medical Center operations. The Associate Director of Audit amp; Consolidations establishes financial controls and policies, ensures controls are implemented and effective, executes financial operations, prepares and interprets financial and operational reports, and supports strategic decisions. Position Summary The Associate Director of Audit amp; Consolidations oversees the internal and external audit processes for the Health System. The Associate Director of Audit amp; Consolidations works on or may lead highly complex projects of large scope and provides solutions. This position will also be responsible for the combined and integrated Medical Center financial statement and will ensure all intercompany transactions are accounted for across the enterprise. The Associate Director of Audit amp; Consolidations plays a key role in ensuring the month and year end financial statement close process is maintained and audited financial statements are in accordance with GAAP and GASB. This position assists in strategic reporting as it relates to the Health System and Medical Center initiatives. The Associate Director of Audit amp; Consolidations performs as a subject matter expert when identified as a resource required for projects and strategic requests and acts as key a resource for financial and operational management, product line committees, operational improvement teams, and strategic initiatives. This position is responsible for accounting projects involving high business risk, scope and impact to the organization. This position is recognized across the organization for expertise and sought as a source for resolution of unique or the most complex financial problems. This position reports to the Senior Director of Financial Reporting. The Associate Director of Audit amp; Consolidations works with Staff, Controllers, Directors, Business Unit leadership. The Associate Director of Audit amp; Consolidations requires a comprehensive understanding of accounting concepts and pronouncements, excellent computer skills and model building, and the ability to create and present information to all levels of management. Previous healthcare accounting and finance experience is preferred. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field and 7 years of Financial Statement Preparation and auditing experience, experience with implementing new accounting standards, internal controls and financial statement consolidations experience. CPA and previous audit experience highly desired. Strong knowledge and experience in Generally Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP).
