OpenWRT SDK WiFi/DOCSIS Embedded Systems

Job Summary

We are seeking a Lead Developer with 8 to 9 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PurpleWRT OpenWRT SDK - WiFi/DOCSIS Embedded Systems - C/C++ Linux Device Driver Linux Network Driver Middleware Development and Firmware Development. Experience in the Telecom domain is a plus. This is a hybrid work model with day shifts and no travel required.

Responsibilities

8+ years of experience in working with development of OpenSync

Understand Wi-Fi technologies WiF6E WiFi7 and aware of Wi-Fi industry standards and associations like WBA and WFA.

Proficient in Linux and experience in configuring customizing and building Linux distributions (RDK-B or OpenWRT)

Strong programming skills in C and C++

Experience with broadband product including CPE RDKB devices DOCSIS Cable Modem standards etc.

Lead the development and integration of PurpleWRT and OpenWRT solutions to enhance our product offerings.

• Oversee the design and implementation of SDKs for WiFi and DOCSIS technologies to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
• Provide expertise in Embedded Systems using C/C++ to develop high-performance applications.
• Develop and maintain Linux Device Drivers to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
• Implement and optimize Linux Network Drivers to enhance network performance and reliability.
• Drive Middleware Development to support application functionalities and improve system efficiency.
• Lead Firmware Development projects to ensure timely delivery of high-quality firmware updates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to minimize downtime and enhance user experience.
• Mentor junior developers and provide guidance to foster professional growth and skill development.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain cutting-edge.
• Contribute to the overall success of the company by delivering high-quality innovative solutions that meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Possess strong expertise in PurpleWRT and OpenWRT development.
• Demonstrate proficiency in SDK development for WiFi and DOCSIS technologies.
• Exhibit advanced skills in Embedded Systems programming using C/C++.
• Have extensive experience in developing and maintaining Linux Device Drivers.
• Show proficiency in implementing and optimizing Linux Network Drivers.
• Have a solid background in Middleware Development.
• Demonstrate experience in Firmware Development.
• Experience in the Telecom domain is a plus.
• Possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Exhibit strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $128K to 150K

depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
