Overview

Hillcrest HealthCare System (HHS) is a comprehensive health system providing quality healthcare in northeastern Oklahoma, with the system's flagship hospital, Hillcrest Medical Center, located in Tulsa. Additionally, HHS is comprised of Bailey Medical Center, Hillcrest Hospital Claremore, Hillcrest Hospital Cushing, Hillcrest Hospital Henryetta, Hillcrest Hospital Pryor, Hillcrest Hospital South, Tulsa Spine & Specialty Hospital, Oklahoma Heart Institute and Utica Park Clinic. HHS has 1,180 licensed beds and an expansive network of clinics.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director is responsible for care coordination of the Bariatric program in developing, organizing, and coordinating operational support for multiple departments to include: scheduling and staffing, documentation, performance improvement, and policies and procedures and maintains administrative duties for reporting, quality indicators, compliance and budget. Responsibilities include coordination of patient and staff education, oversight of ongoing MBSAQIP compliance and ongoing multidisciplinary team meetings. The Director acts as a liaison between the hospital and the bariatric surgical practice. Additional requirements include the ability to support the Chief Executive Officer in the implementation of new programs and services, budgetary compliance and liaison activities. Individual is accountable for complying with national standards and benchmarks in accordance with BMC standards to deliver efficient, effective, quality patient care. Individual must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development to assess and interpret data and identify patient's requirements relative to age specific needs. The Director is expected to adhere to and abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the law and must demonstrate critical thinking, skills, scientific judgment and leadership in anticipating, delegating and planning. Director will serve as a personal liaison for all bariatric patients treated at Bailey Medical Center. The Director has global accountability and responsibility for all assigned areas and reports to the Chief Executive Officer.


Responsibilities

  • Maintains a global approach to the operations of the assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Operationalizes the strategic plan for the division and monitors progress toward completion.
  • Serves as a resource and mentor for peers and staff.
  • Provides constructive feedback to facilitate positive change.
  • Utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to problem solving. Facilitates resolution.
  • Recognizes and reports appropriate ethical and risk issues.
  • Develops annual divisional strategic plan and educational goals and provides direction in the attainment of the objectives.
  • Facilitates the divisional staffing and scheduling requirements to meet patient acuity and productivity guidelines.
  • Investigates complaints/concerns and initiates corrective action in a timely manner.
  • Critiques and evaluates current clinical literature and research for incorporation of results into practice.
  • Monitors/reports divisional compliance to performance improvement and hospital standards.
  • Prioritizes and delegates divisional patient care activities based on Unit capabilities and patient care requirements.
  • Abides by employee performance standards and behaviors.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associates Degree in related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of Bariatric Navigator or Clinic Manager experience required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
