Position Summary

UNM-Taos' Career and Technical Education/Information Technology Department invites applicants living in New Mexico to apply for Temporary Part time Faculty positions (Adjunct) to teach a lower division course in our Information Technology certificate program. This posting is for both face to face and remote delivery of CS108L.

These positions will be hired on an as needed basis dependent on student enrollment, course offering matrix, and graduation requirements. The specific courses include, but are not limited to, the following:

CS108L Computer Science for All

Students will gain experience not only in computer science and programming but also in designing, building, testing, debugging, and running experiments with computer models. Students will develop computational thinking skills and learn about complex adaptive systems.

Meets New Mexico General Education Curriculum Area 3: Physical and Natural Sciences


Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

To teach or develop courses in the field or subfield for which you are applying are determined by Higher Learning Commission's accreditation requirements for faculty, and must be met in these ways:

  1. A Bachelor's Degree and/or professional experience teaching information technology.
  2. A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline or subfield in which they teach or tested experience that is determined to be equivalent to the degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution, particularly a community college or significant teaching experience in a secondary institution.
  2. Demonstrated experience in remote delivery of instruction.
  3. Successful experience tailoring information technology classes to a wide range of student needs.
  4. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
  5. Ability to market courses to foster enrollment.
