UNC Charlotte is seeking an Executive Coach to support newly-appointed assistant principals from the NC Principal Fellows Program. This Executive Coach will manage a cohort of ten first-year assistant principals from August 2025-May 2026.The Executive Coach will play an integral role in developing the broader support program, working closely with the UNC Charlotte Educational Leadership staff, school and district leadership, and others to ensure effective and positive support for new administrators.

Please note the proposed hire date is December 2024 but the assignment will not begin until August 2025.

Pay Rate $40,000, or $4000.00 per student
Minimum Experience/Education

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Educational Leadership/School Administration with current North Carolina Principal License
  • Minimum of three years' experience as a principal

  • identify practical, research-based resources (electronic, paper-based, human) to assist assistant principals in meeting their goals

  • understand and work with diverse populations


Must have:

  • strong oral and written communication, organization skills
  • knowledge of NC Executive Leadership Standards
  • A strong record of measurable results in a school

  • willing to travel weekly and be available for the assistant principals on weekends and evenings

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend training sessions prior to August.
  • Conduct face-to-face school visits to meet with the assistant principals from August through May
  • Communicate with the assistant principal no less than once per week.
  • Assist new assistant principals in gathering and analyzing data (quantitative and qualitative) to reflect on students' performance and their practice
  • Provide a variety of solutions to help assistant principals improve their practice and therefore student achievement
  • Serve as a thought-partner to new leaders on addressing school-based challenges
  • Build positive culture within network of leaders in their region
  • Develop knowledge of regional and LEA resources along with the University School Partnerships
  • Collaborate with LEA personnel
  • Connect with other coaches; participate in professional development for coaches to improve practice
