Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Plant Manager in Albuquerque, NM who will be responsible for managing operations and maintenance of two Asphalt Terminals. Facilitates the safe, reliable, and environmentally sound operation of assigned facilities through effective planning and scheduling of routine, capital, and preventative maintenance. Committed to the goals, objectives, and success of the team. Must demonstrate a commitment to understanding and complying with all Federal, State, local, and Company regulations, policies, guidelines, and procedures.

Job Duties

  • Provides oversight & direction to the 24/7 facility operations staff to meet the production plan within safe operating limits
  • Schedules employees necessary to meet all material receipts, shipments, and manufacturing demands
  • Shipping and delivery schedules, receipt handling via rail, truck, andbarge, and coordinating optimization of these activities with manufacturing schedules. Applicable documentation with these will be in place (i.e., BOL, SDS, etc.)
  • Ensures all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with HF Sinclair Operations & EH&S procedures and guidelines.
  • Coordinates and facilitates work priorities and ensures safe and profitable facility operation. Helps troubleshoot operational issues related to maintenance needs.
  • Formulates processes and programs for operations and maintenance, such as the PM program, winterization plan, steam trap program, and steam leak program, working with peers to ensure consistency.
  • Monitors supplies and chemicals for assigned facilities related to normal production operations, outages, and other special events.
  • Oversees development of operating, shutdown, start-up, and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) lists and procedures, obtaining final approval for Management of Change (MOCs) in area of responsibility. Facilitates completion of MOC requirements in a timely and efficient manner
  • Accountable for the facility budget; report on variances and develop an action plan to achieve budget
  • Ensures all environmental rules and regulations are being met relative to equipment availability
  • Coordinates to eliminate production problems that create waste in product and opportunity cost
  • The facility's TOE, budgets, administration, shipping documents, and related P & L statements, etc.
  • Implements daily production/quality/EH&S meetings to establish culture in the facility
  • Supervises plant operations staff, hiring, terminating, performance reviews/issues, discipline, etc.


Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their Manager, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of five years of experience manufacturing emulsions and other liquid asphalt products at a leadership level is required. An operations background and general knowledge of maintenance protocols are also preferred.

Education Level

A minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience isrequired.

Required Skills

Must be able to lead and direct the work of others. The successful candidate will have pasthands-on experience in environmental regulations and compliance, safety, production scheduling, and employee development. A Minimum ofIntermediate or better computer skills, reading and writing skills, and the ability to perform mathematical calculations.Team player who can effectively communicate with others through written and verbal communication (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high-stress situations. Self-motivatedteam player with interpersonal skills, ability to maintain positive customer relations, and act courteous/respectful of others. Proven ability to make sound decisions with solid time management skills to effectively multi-task, meet deadlines, and manage complexity within the workday

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Responsible for the supervision of a team of employees.

Work Conditions

Office-based travel requires up to 30% of travel by land and air. Petroleum facility, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment, and driver-based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, and rotating equipment. Subject to all temperatures, weather, and varying road conditions. Subject to occasional weekend and after-hour calls to aid in facility support.
