Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Business Development to lead and manage the company's growth initiatives. The Director will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth in alignment with Goldbelt Frontier's vision and goals. This role requires a deep understanding of government contracting, as well as the ability to lead capture management efforts and foster relationships with key stakeholders.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to expand the company's presence.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, customer engagement, and analysis of industry trends and federal procurement opportunities (e.g., RFPs, RFQs).
  • Oversee the capture and proposal process for task orders, including strategic guidance on RFI/RFP analysis, content development, and final product preparation.
  • Create strategies and identify resources to increase win probability.
  • Lead the capture process for high-value contracts, including development of capture plans, win strategies, proposal development oversight, and competitive analysis.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, including government agencies, prime contractors, and partners. Serve as the primary point of contact for business development initiatives.
  • Build and foster strategic partnerships and teaming arrangements with other businesses to enhance the company's capabilities and competitiveness.
  • Oversee the proposal process, ensuring timely and competitive responses to government solicitations. Collaborate with internal teams (technical, operational, and legal) to produce high-quality, compliant proposals.
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis and stay abreast of emerging industry trends, regulations, and competitors. Leverage this information to guide business development efforts and position the company for success.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of business development efforts. Provide regular reports to senior leadership on progress, wins, and areas for improvement.
  • Manage business development budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources to support growth initiatives.
  • Attend meetings and conferences.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic business development plans.
  • Knowledge of Government acquisition programs.
  • Knowledge of risk management, mitigation and quality control.
  • Understanding of pricing and staffing strategies.
  • Ability to work with the BD and Proposal team in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate business development meetings and activities.
  • Excellent researching, reading, writing, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in business development, capture management, or sales in federal government contracting, preferably in healthcare, defense, or IT services.
  • Proven track record of winning government contracts and growing business lines.
  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration/Management.
  • Previous experience working with Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs).

The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $217,000 annually.
