To learn more about Conti Federal, please visit http://www.contifederal.com/ General Position Description The Project Engineer works with the Project Team and our Field Management to construct a safe and quality project, while managing environmental record keeping on the jobsite, and building a strong customer relationship. This position assists with project startup logistics, environmental permit preparation and submittal, environmental data compilation and reporting, subcontractor management, submittals, and waste tracking and documentation. Additionally, this position will assist the Project Manager with meeting preparation and documentation, interfacing with the Client and project stakeholders, as well as figure preparation and as-built updates. In this position, you will assist with the implementation of environmental remediation construction activities under direction from the Project Manager and Site Superintendent, as part of federal government (US Army Corps of Engineers, US Environmental Protection Agency, and Department of Defense) projects. This position will provide an opportunity to work on major remedial construction projects to mitigate a variety of traditional and emerging contaminants, including remediation of sites contaminated with hazardous, toxic, and radiological waste (chlorinated solvents, metals, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs),1,4-dioxane, and PFAS), and munitions and explosives of concern. Environmental remediation activities will include a variety of methods, including, for soil and/or sediment, excavation and disposal, vapor extraction, and/or thermal treatment; and for groundwater and surface water, dewatering/pumping, filtrations and discharge, and insitu chemical oxidation or reduction via injection methodologies. Project activities may include establishing temporary utilities, temporary shoring and foundation support, excavation dewatering and temporary water treatment, excavation and transport of contaminated soils to off-site permitted disposal facilities, and general site restoration. The work is subject to the requirements for hazardous waste operations specified in Federal Occupational Safety and Health regulation 29 CFR 1910.120. Responsibilities
