Monday - Friday - 7am-3pm - Full Time - 40 hours Mission Statement: Bay Cove Human Services partners with people to overcome challenges and realize personal potential. Job Summary: The Lead Recovery Specialist is responsible for providing direct services and transportation as well as supporting the overall functioning of the unit by assisting in the orientation and training of Recovery Specialists and by carrying out other operational tasks as assigned. The Lead Recovery Specialist contributes to Bay Cove's mission by providing direct service and operational support conducive to a therapeutic environment for those seeking treatment for Substance Use Disorders. This is a non-exempt position. Essential Functions of Position:
- Transport patients and accompanying staff to and from the diversionary services units for intake, medical appointments, other needed appointments, and aftercare transitions.
- Conduct errands for the units, as needed, including mail pick up and drop off, making purchases for the units, etc. and retain and submit receipts in a timely manner.
- Support the onboarding and training of Recovery Specialists by role-modeling, coaching, and providing feedback as assigned.
- Carry out unit management tasks as assigned by managers, including inventory, supplies ordering, submission of work orders, completion of and order of program supplies, submission of work orders, and completion of quality assurance activities (property inspections, etc.).
- Work with the multidisciplinary team to support the processes for patients' admission (greeting, sign-in, orientation, search and belongings processing), transfer, discharge, ongoing observation and care, while ensuring respect and dignity.
- Maintain concise and accurate documentation as assigned.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, supervision, and related professional development sessions.
- Manage the program vehicle including ensuring routine vehicle maintenance, cleaning, and inventory of safety equipment as well as documentation of trips on long and by coordinating vehicle repair and inspection.
- When not engaged in transportation assignments or training Recovery Specialists, support the day to day functioning of the units by carrying out the duties expected of Recovery Specialists when staffing levels necessitate.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements for the position:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years experience in health and human service-related field preferred, preferably working with those with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license and good driving record.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and committed to adhere to, federal and state policies (42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA) and ensure appropriate releases are obtained prior to exchanging or disclosing necessary patient information.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

- Basic proficiency in word processing and other computer functions using Windows, Word, and Google Email and Apps.

Physical Requirements
- Frequent interaction with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors requiring the employee to communicate, as well as detect and interpret information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, occasionally during emergency situations.
- Frequent communication of accurate information, instructions, and ideas so others will understand.
- Bending to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment up to twenty (20) pounds.
- Frequent movement throughout the program to access, obtain, or distribute supplies (sometimes pushing or pulling equipment), interact with persons served, etc.
- Undertake lifesaving efforts by conducting CPR via the provision of chest compressions and rescue breathing as needed until relieved by medical professionals.
- Remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time, as needed.
- Requirement to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time as needed.
- Operation of a vehicle which requires sitting, detecting and interpreting signs, traffic signals, and the actions of other vehicles.
