Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures (http://gsll.unc.edu/) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is hiring a tenure track Assistant Professor in German. The position will involve active and ongoing participation in the Carolina-Duke Graduate Program in German Studies. The successful candidate will maintain an active research program, teach a range of courses in German, and perform service for the department. |
Position Summary |
This position will teach one section of introductory Ukrainian (
UKRN 401) beginning in Fall 2025 (August 18 - December 12). This is a part-time, fixed-term, renewable position at. Strong candidates should also be prepared to teach second- and third-semester Ukrainian if the position is renewed. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
A M.A. degree (or foreign equivalent) in Slavic languages and literatures or closely related field is required by July 1, 2025. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Strong candidates are expected to possess knowledge of and experience in current best practices for the teaching of Ukrainian as a foreign language at the collegiate level. Native or near-native proficiency in Ukrainian and English required. |
