The Field Technician Specialist, under direction of the Operations Manager & Director of Opeations, has the primary job function to support the safe and efficient delivery of API 510/570/653 inspections of aboveground storage tanks and pressure vessels.

As a Field Technician Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a safe work environment and insure the use of proper safety procedures and equipment.
  • Assisting in the successful completion of all field projects as directed.
  • Responsible for accurate communications with all crew members.
  • Must be able to carry out directions of the crew Foreman.
  • Maintaining punctuality and perform all duties professionally.
  • Performing NDE tasks as required.
  • Performing all work and travel safely.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will require:

  • Have 2-4 years of industry experience.
  • Have experience with a field service company will be required.
  • Have the ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, management, vendors and customers.
  • Must be willing to travel when needed (approximately 75% travel), with little notice including travel overnight and by air.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Have valid driver's license, have or ability to obtain passport, TWIC card (homeland security).
  • Have the ability to pass background and drug testing.
  • Must be comfortable with heights and tight spaces.
  • Must have knowledge or certified to perform MT, VT, MFL, PT and other NDE methods as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May include occasional exposure to shop environment involving lifting of material and/or products up to 50 pounds
  • Work frequently involves working from a kneeling/all-fours position
  • Work involves working in Confined Spaces
  • Work is conducted in an outdoor setting and in all weather
  • Must have adequate vision/corrective eyewear and be able to distinguish colors
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders frequently and repetitively
  • Must be available by phone during nonstandard working hours
  • Must be able to pass a Pulmonary Fit Test, if required
  • Includes heavy travel schedule, estimated at 75%
