The Center for Neural Science (CNS) at New York University (NYU) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track or tenured, open-rank faculty position. We seek scholars who carry out innovative, rigorous, and impactful research in computational neuroscience, preferably with a focus on the theory of neural circuits. At CNS, our faculty have broad interests in experimental and computational neuroscience, and we foster a collaborative and inclusive environment, supportive of new faculty. The successful candidate will be expected to lead an internationally recognized research program, with a commitment to excellence in teaching, and will become part of a vibrant neuroscience community spanning the Arts and Sciences at the Washington Square campus and the School of Medicine. More information about our department can be found at www.cns.nyu.edu. The appointment can begin as early as September 1, 2025, pending administrative and budgetary approval.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree, postdoctoral experience, and a strong record of research achievement. Appointees will establish their own independent research program and contribute to the teaching of undergraduate and graduate students.

Pay Transparency

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $89,000 - $129,000 at the rank of Assistant Professor; $115,000 to $175,000 at the rank of Associate Professor; and $150,000 to $240,000 at the rank of full Professor. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
