The Compensation Manager oversees the base salary compensation program to attract, reward, and retain top talent across Hilcorp. This includes market analysis for base pay, total cash and total direct compensation; benchmarking; reviews of job descriptions; maintenance of minimum qualifications for benchmarked roles; participation in salary surveys; administration of the annual salary program; and administration of Hilcorp's annual long-term compensation program.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Leads the design and delivery of compensation programs, policies, and projects across the organization in accordance with Hilcorp's compensation philosophy.
- Manages the annual compensation review process, including salary planning, configuration of HRIS (Workday), and communication of compensation outcomes.
- Provides subject matter expertise, insight, and understanding to the business on all compensation-related matters.
- Performs financial modeling to analyze the costs of the various compensation programs.
- Participates in compensation surveys and analyzes the final reports to recommend adjustments to current compensation programs.
- Prepares compensation recommendations for new hires and current employees, providing insight based on knowledge of relevant labor markets and internal relativity.
- Researches compensation trends and conducts market analysis to ensure programs are aligned with the oil and gas market.
- Reviews compensation policies to ensure continued alignment with legislation and best practices.
- Uses compensation data to provide thoughtful analysis and insight to drive recommendations, with the ability to present outcomes to business leaders in a concise manner.
- Implements and administers special compensation programs and incentive systems for all employees or for specific groups to support the organization's objectives.
- Performs pay equity analysis to ensure internal and external pay competitiveness.

Qualifications:
- 8+ years of progressive experience in compensation administration or relevant experience with an emphasis on managing and executing multiple initiatives and process enhancements.
- Demonstrated success in the design, implementation, and communication of programs with the ability to advise and influence senior leaders.
- Ability to use data to build & present recommendations to senior leaders, ask thoughtful questions, and bring ideas to the table.
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, ensuring diligence with the details.
- Ability to work in a demanding environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.
- Knowledge of IRS & FLSA regulations.
- Oil and Gas industry experience preferred.
- Workday experience preferred.
- High level of MS Office proficiency required.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or other relevant certification preferred
