The incumbent is responsible for ensuring all shipments are sent within company standards. Receives moderate supervision from supervisor and has contact with individuals outside the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:



  • Verifies picking list against packing sheet to ensure accuracy.
  • Review airbills for the correct address and reference number.
  • Creates packing sheets for shipments.
  • Ensures shipments are placed in the proper staging area.
  • Files packing lists for reference.
  • Review shipping priorities to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed first.
  • Conveys materials and items to the designated carrier areas.
  • Sorts and places material or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as priority, size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Assembles customer orders for shipment.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within the company to ensure conformance to internal standards.
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Drives vehicles to transport stored items from the warehouse or pick up items from other locations for shipment.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Enters data in the inventory system.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Maintains inventory records.
  • Has an understanding of SAP inventory applications (preferred).
  • Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
  • Prepares parcels for mailing.
  • Greets visitors and customers.
  • Exhibits positive courteous behavior with customers, businesses, and coworkers.
  • Assists coworkers and those in other departments to successfully perform job tasks and functions when necessary.
  • Complies with Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste, and Tool Control Programs.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the work area
  • Use, inspect, and maintain assigned personal safety equipment.
  • Ability to operate warehouse machinery and hand tools such as forklifts, Floor Jacks, power tools, etc.
  • Follows all safety procedures and practices as established by the Company and regulatory bodies.
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


INCUMBENT PERFORMS OTHER JOB-RELATED TASKS AS ASSIGNED AND REQUIRED; ANY DUTIES/TASKS INCLUDED IN THE EMPLOYEE'S PERFORMANCE EVALUATION ELEMENTS ARE ESSENTIAL TO THAT EMPLOYEE'S POSITION WITHIN THE JOB CLASSIFICATION.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:



  • Graduation from a standard four (4) year high school or equivalent (GED)
  • An associate's degree in business or related field is preferred
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in general warehouse operations.
